 DR. STEVENS JOINS AGSOURCE AS MANAGER OF TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT

Lincoln, Neb.- Dr. Lewis Stevens has joined AgSource Cooperative Services as the Manager of Laboratory Technology and Development.  In his new role, Dr. Stevens will focus on quality assurance and quality control development while establishing new research directions and fostering new relationships. 

            Dr. Stevens will be located at AgSource-Harris Laboratories in Lincoln, Nebraska and will be responsible for providing leadership and technical support for all three AgSource soil laboratories.  The position was created to assure data quality and consistency.  Additional responsibilities include researching new service development, instrumentation evaluation, technical support and training, as well as enhancing industry and university relations.

            Dr. Stevens has a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from Hastings College.  He completed a fellowship in chemistry at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and earned his Doctor of Philosophy, in 2005 with an emphasis in physical and solid-state chemistry, materials, and spectroscopy. Dr. Stevens completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. His research focused the use of laser-light and X-ray scattering on materials.

AgSource, headquartered in Verona, Wis., is a subsidiary of Cooperative Resources International and a member-owned cooperative that provides agricultural testing and management information services to members and customers at seven locations throughout the Midwest and Idaho.
